    1. It is a beautiful house and gardens; I just love his studio not far from the main house. Every time I visit, I think of the film The Darkest Hour, and that motorcycle clip of the rider delivering a telegram. Anyway, when we last visited, I asked if any scenes were shot there and they said only scene that was filmed there was the motorcycle turning up with a telegram. And, in real-life that didn’t happen and was pure Hollywood fiction.

  7. Ah, we’re both dabbling in history and the homes of the rich and famous today. Here’s mine: https://margaret21.com/2022/10/12/monochrome-or-colour-adam/. I think monochrome really works for your image, preventing it from looking cluttered perhaps.

    1. Thank you … It just seemed perfect for monochrome especially as the scene would be in 1930-40’s. I have visions of him sitting at that desk especially during the early war years…

      1. I have no idea what that means but have heard of it. It must be along the lines of our Defund The Police over here. Incredibly stupid and ignorant. These people are anarchists.

        1. Oh, we have it here bad John… they want his statue to be removed… they don’t think to themselves, if this man hadn’t had the strength he did, we would not have won the war… and then where would these people be today?

          1. That is exactly what has happened here, Bren, these people have zero brains! How the heck can they not understand something as simple as what you said about Sir Winston Churchill!

          2. We have them gluing themselves to roads, blocking motorways… and if you dare try to move them.. then you are the one in trouble.

          3. That is completely ludicrous, Bren! The world has truly gone mad. 😞
