Stoneacre Dining Room

Not far from us at Otham near Maidstone in Kent lies Stoneacre. Stoneacre is owned and maintained by the National Trust. The house is a restored medieval yeoman’s home. With the house being set in the valley of Otham, there are picturesque country walks for all to enjoy.

According to the Nation Trust site, the house was built by the Ellys family.

Stoneacre’s early years are bound with the Ellys family, whose relatives would give their name to Ellis Island, the gateway for millions of immigrants to the United States.

The interior of the house is just spectacular… with its dark wood furniture. The gardens are landscaped, even though the grounds are not extensive, it is charming place to visit. And the surrounding area is ready to be explored.

I thought this image would be worthy of two photo challenges, this week.

Have a great weekend everyone!!! Until next time… Enjoy!!!!

  3. Indeed, most worthy. A well-done photograph. Nicely composed. The light suits the mood and place superbly. Worthy of a place on the gallery wall.
