Local Vistas

Anne of Slow Shutter Speed for the Len-Artists Photography Challenge set the topic this week as Local Vistas.

Rochester is very local to us, and is renowned for its links to Charles Dickens. Through the year this is Dickens Week, The Sweeps Festival and Dickensian Christmas.

You can read more of what our local area has to offer here.

  1. The sepia gives a real Dickensian feel in the first photo 🙂

  2. These are all gorgeous Bren but I was really drawn to the beautiful castle and cathedral images, maybe because we have none of that near me! Your portraits are amazing as well.

  3. Thank you Bren for linking us to an amazing tour of Rochester. That was very creative. When I see images of castles and old cathedrals, I’m reminded of how young the United States is compared with Europe. Great post for this challenge.

  4. Great photos. I like the banner shot, scrolling from clouds down to the busy street scene and perspective. Great lighting on the castle and Mrs. Haversham too.

    1. Thank you… They do a lot of things like this in Rochester… mind you living here at times, when you are trying to get through the traffic does create some frustration when these festivals are one… 😀 😀 😀

It’s like living by the sea and moaning about the holidaymakers! 😀 😀 😀
