Mid-Week Monochrome – MWM – 7 – Men at Work
This week I thought I would process an image taken at Upnor Castle of the waxworks that are on display, showing men moving barrels. Upnor castle is local to us and one of the places that is steeped in history and played a vital role in protecting the River Medway from invaders.

FOWC – Fandango – Castle
One of our favourite places to visit is Scotney Castle in Kent.. and for Fandango’s FOWC Challenge – Castle I couldn’t resist posting this image. Processed in Aurora and Luminar, I like the softness given to the image.

Mid-Week Monochrome – MWM – 6 – Whitstable Castle
I have been to Whitstable many times… to stroll along the beach, have coffee in the little cafe or just to visit the market that is sometimes on. But it wasn’t until 2013 that I read a road sign leading to Whitstable Castle. I knew it was a fishing town but I never knew it […]

Mid-Week Monochrome – MWM – 5 – Windsor Castle
There is nothing like a summer’s day to visit Windsor Castle. And for this week’s MWM I thought I process a photograph of the front of Windsor Castle. On the day we visited it was Changing of the Guard and the Guard are marched in by the band into the entrance between the two-turrets in […]

In the distance
As we strolled around Windsor Castle… this picture of Windsor Castle caught my eye simply because of the moat and how its banks were still suffering from the drought we’ve had over the last few months in the South East of England. You can start to see the green grass coming through the moat floor […]

Leeds Castle
As Leanne Cole is taking a break and there is no Monochrome Madness until possibly next month… I thought I would process and post this image as it was in my list of potential MM Photos. Again this is an image I found during my culling (which by the way is still on going). Only […]

Bodiam Castle
What I love about Luminar is the various tools you get with the software… especially the Orton Effect and Sunrays. The photograph above is one completed in Luminar before importing back into Lightroom. Once in Lightroom, I decided to create a black and white version of the image. Naturally, I didn’t stop just there… I […]

Strolling around Rochester – Street Photography
Over the weekend at Rochester in Kent was the Medieval Merriment Festival which was held in the Castle Gardens, not far from the High Street in Rochester. With Knights in armour, and period traders, this event gave me the perfect opportunity to practice my Street Photography. And because there were tourists there I didn’t […]

When time is of the essence – Rochester Castle
What with Easter just being around the corner and a lot of things to do… today’s photograph is one I took on a windy cold spring evening at Rochester Castle in March 2017. After a bit of manipulation in Photoshop to remove a litter bin and a flagpole without a flag… here is my quick […]

Security of the moat at Leeds Castle near Maidstone
I really can’t get my head around the date change of the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge… anyway here is my entry for this weeks challenge Security. The above photograph was taken at Leeds Castle back in September 2016 and shows the security of the moat in protecting the castle from invasion.
