Flower of the Day – 23rd April 2023

Cluster of Daffs

On Wednesday we took a drive to Bodiam Castle. Even though I didn’t feel good, I thought the fresh-air and trip would help. Little did I know, it was going to be no help at all. And as we headed back to the car, within the picnic area stood these beautiful upright daffodils.

A photograph of a cluster of daffodils photographed at Bodiam Castle in East Sussex.

Their yellow petals were glowing in the sun, and the clusters of flowers were standing tall and proud. It was impossible not to stop and take a closer look.

I have always loved daffodils, they are one of the earliest signs of spring, and they always remind me of new beginnings. Seeing them in full bloom was a true feast for my eyes.

As I stood there admiring them, I couldn’t help but notice how popular they were with the other visitors. Everyone seemed to be drawn to them, taking photos. It just goes to show how much joy flowers can bring into our lives, even on a difficult day.

I just wished I could have picked a small cluster of daffodils to take home with me. They would have been perfect in a vase.

Flowers have a way of lifting our spirits, and these daffodils did just that. They were the highlight of my day, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have seen them in all their beauty.

Our beautiful earth throughout the seasons shows us what each season has in store for us as we wonder around this beautiful planet. Especially as spring arrives with its wonderous spring flowers.

      1. They do indeed! I was out for a bike ride earlier today and spied some daffies in a neighbor’s garden. Still waiting for more blooms. Take care!

    1. They really did lift my spirits… the only thing is I haven’t got the strength to walk in the woods and it is bluebell season at Ashenbank Woods at the moment.
