Floral Friday – FF#87 – Tulip

To get a break from what is going on… my dear hubby took me to Great Dixter House and Gardens… we were a bit early for the full tulip season, however I did manage to capture this image.

A photograph of a red tulip from Great Dixter House and Gardens in East Sussex.

Tulips have a special place in my heart, not only do they come in various colors and sizes, but they also symbolize love and rebirth. In photography, tulips are a great subject to experiment with different angles and lighting, as they have a unique shape and texture.

At Dixter House in East Sussex, I was overwhelmed by the beautiful tulip beds when we last visited with the tulips in full bloom. It was as if I was walking in a sea of colorful and vibrant blooms. On this visit I just couldn’t resist capturing this stunning tulip, with its petals so vibrant in colour.

As part of the Floral Friday challenge, I wanted to share this image with you all, and encourage you to take a moment to appreciate the beauty of flowers around us. Whether it’s a small pot on your windowsill or a grand display in a park, flowers have the power to uplift our spirits and bring joy to our lives.

I hope this image of the tulip brightens up your day and inspires you to capture your own floral masterpieces. Don’t forget to tag us on WordPress using #FloralFriday and #FF, we would love to see your stunning floral photography!

  2. You have a tulip today, too (to to too). But: Wow! Your tulip looks like a flame. My tulip is a bit more of a shrinking violet in comparison if that’s not too much of a lopsided comparison.

    1. I just love how you’ve processed this… did you paint it? Or was it done by software? Cos your tulip is breathtaking xx

      1. Oh, wow, thanks for so much praise. I usually use photo scape (a shareware, i.e. free, programm). It’s a lot less complicated to use than adope photoshop. There is a function called “Bereich (out of focus)” (Bereich translates as field or possibly range) which only transforms a circular section of the photo. In this case I used negative (which works occasionally) and a feathered border between the positive and negative parts of the photo. I hope this makes sense.
