In 2015 we spent three nights in San Francisco… we didn’t arrive till early evening and just time to have a spruce up before dinner. The following morning, we did a tour of the tourist highlights of San Francisco and a trip to Alcatraz. The following day was free for us to explore San Francisco.
The previous day, we had been driven around San Francisco and drove by the Conservatory of Flowers… so that was on our agenda for a visit the following day. Mind you our route planning wasn’t spot on, but we did manage to capture all we wanted to. Even if we did go the long way around.
Within our list of places to visit, was the Conservatory of Flowers… There amongst the varieties of flowers stood this pair of orchids. I just loved the colour.

We had a lovely day, but I can tell you this, we were cream-crackered and slept well that evening. In a way it would have been nice to have just one more free day there. But it wasn’t to be as the very next morning we were up at the crack of dawn and heading to Oakland to catch a train down to Merced for our visit to Yosemite National Park.
