Woodland Walk at Fountains Abbey

Now one of the things, I am not known for, is my sense of direction. Especially in wooded areas… I get completely lost and 9 times out of 10 head off in the wrong direction.

Well, my Sat Nav skills aren’t that much better. And always end up some catastrophic adventure that leads us in the totally opposite direction from where we need to go.

Which always, results in him getting irate and saying, ‘I don’t know why I listen to you.’

Neither do I love. After 31 years you should realise by now, I have no sense of direction. Which then leads me to think, I don’t know why he still keeps asking me or even listening to me when I give him directions. 😀 😀 He should know it’s not going to end well. 😀 😀 😀 😀

Just like the time I got us lost at Fountains Abbey in some woodland.

    1. Thank you. Oh I am always getting us lost in the woods… 😀 😀 But now, after much tuition on how to use google maps… the proper way, I think I won’t be lost anymore. 😀 😀

  6. I’m with you Bren with my poor sense of direction although the Mathematician has given up expecting me to know where we’re going by now :). I have very fond memories of Fountain Abbey many years ago when we lived in the UK for a time and loved finding wonderful places like this to visit with our 3 young daughters. Great photo for #sundaystills theme.

  7. What a great photo. The colours and the path leading off.
My engineer always has it cased even of I try to vere off. Sat Nat’s are hilarious creatures. Love driving around the British Isles and they add to the enjoyment but I miss my big old book map!

    1. Oh my god… don’t talk about map books… by the time I find where we are, we are on the next page… 😀 😀 😀 I do enjoy the old Sat Nav… especially when he shouts back her when she tells him to ‘turnaround when possible’. 😀 😀

      1. I loved the challenge of the map books and strangely we only got lost a couple of times in thousands of miles. Of course I studied it every night before we set out the next day!!

  11. I love this photo! for the colors, the sense of mystery, light, and a comfortable easy path. When it comes to sense of direction, I need landmarks.
