Fuchsia from Great Comp

When we moved into our house over 20 years ago, the previous owners had two ornate concrete urns which they had planted with fuchsias. They were so pretty, until our 9-month Tibetan Mastiff pup thought different. They were pruned beyond belief. Having moved from 50ft garden into over a 100ft garden he sure had ideas on landscaping it. 😀 😀 😀

Boy could that dog dig 😀 😀 😀

As we strolled around Great Comp Gardens, I saw the above fuchsia and it so reminded me of the two that were planted in the urns when we moved in.

It’s funny how certain flowers bring back certain memories!

  1. I’m very fond of a fuchsia, so I’d have been having very stiff words with your dog!

    1. Unfortunately, we lost Bo back in 2012… he was a lovely dog… once he was out of his puppy stage, he settled down.. but boy what is a mischievous puppy. 😀 😀 😀

    1. Thank you… and he loved wood… never touched the furniture at all, but he munched his way through the back of the shed, some decking, a few planters and a fence panel.
We phoned the breeder… and she said that is how they strength their jaws and mouth… He was such a lovely dog though… pure character, he would take himself off to bed at 8.30pm and lie in to 10.30am

  5. Beautiful Fuscias, we had them in our garden a few years. Up here in Eastern Canada, a Fushia is just an annual flower. They are beautiful. Very ornate with different structures. I like how you captured the stalk and leaves coming in the photo from the left.
