During our holiday we drove into Ross-on-Wye. Ross-on-Wye is beautiful and our little boy loved it there. In fact, he took to swimming there. Now that is a miracle within itself as he thought water was toxic 😀 😀 😀

Ross-on-Wye is quaint. In fact, it wouldn’t take me two minutes to move there… mind you it’s a bit too far for him to travel to work 😀 😀 😀
The High Street is set on a hill, with many shops, selling antiques as well as a choice of supermarkets and clothes shops.
Parking behind Aldi, you can walk towards the river, going through a beautiful park, over a bridge into a field and then down to the river. There are beautiful little spots for dogs to swim. I’ve never seen such clear water with the local rowing club, rowing merrily up and down the river.

What I love about that area… is its friendliness, everyone you pass on your way to the river, said ‘Good Morning’. It is such a friendly place and is dog friendly. In fact, a lot of the pubs are dog friendly. One lunchtime on our way back from Ross-on-Wye we called at The Kilcot Inn. They allowed dogs into the bar and they even served him up a nice bowl of cold water. As well as a splendid lunch for us.
This was our first holiday with Stew-boy, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We thought we would be rather restricted with a dog, but it is surprising how dog friendly they are down that way.
I would highly recommend if you are near Ross-on-Wye to pay the town and river a visit.
