For my second In the Garden challenge, I thought I would powder paint an image of one of my blue hydrangeas that I have in a tub in my back garden. Hydrangeas, like roses, are one my favourite flowers.

They bring back childhood memories, of the garden of my nan and grandad. They had a beautiful hydrangea growing next to the garden store. My mum used to tell me where the shed stood was the siting of the old war-time Anderson shelter. And that hydrangea had been planted before the second world war.

      1. I know what you mean Bren. I haven’t seen wall flowers for a while, but a few years ago I spotted some during a visit to a walled garden and was immediately transported back to our first family home which we left when I was seven years old. 🙂

        1. It’s funny the things we remember from our childhood…. My mum had cultivated red hot pokers in her greenhouse.. she was so proud of them and they did look lovely… Then the rabbit escaped… Needless to say… No red hot pokers 😂😂. She was not amused 😂😂
