The Changing Seasons, June 2022

Summer is here, the weather has been glorious, with a bit of rain now and again… but nothing to moan about. We do need the rain for the gardens, and it has mainly rained overnight or early evening.

What a month June has been! It started with me turning another year older and us re-joining the National Trust.

Real-life has taken a hold and got in the way of pleasure at times. What we DIY, garden maintenance and one tired hubby!

Anyway we are back on track.

My garden hydrangea

My blue hydrangea has is now getting its full colour. And this year it has developed the deepest blue I’ve ever seen.

Last weekend, we went on our first National Trust property jaunt. It took us to Ham House in Richmond, London and a nice stroll along the river.

Ham House

Let us see what July brings! Hopefully more pleasant warm temperatures and a few trips out.

  2. Beautiful photos, really capture the place. I’ve never been to Ham House, but you’ve certainly given a lovely sense of it. I used to have a Blue Hydrangea bought from The Lost Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall, many years ago. Sadly my ericaceous compost lost its acidity, so it is now pink. But still loved.

    1. Ah we had a pink one once, and turned it blue by adding this product

      It really works.

  5. Welcome to The Changing Seasons, Bren! So happy to have you join us! We hope you will return for July as well!

What a beautiful & stunning June you’ve had! I love your Image Compare of your hydrangea! Does the yellow turn into the blue? or are they 2 different flowers?

Appreciate your sharing glimpses of Ham House – it is a lovely property. I am glad that you were able to make this visit despite Life Happening. Looking forward to more of your National Trust visits.
