For my Throwback Thursday post, I am going to go back nearly a decade to 2012, when we first got the photography bug. Writing this I can’t believe that we’ve been taking images for nearly a decade! And we still have the same passion today as we did back then.
Mind you we’ve learnt a lot.

It was a spring day and local to us was Leybourne Lakes. The trees were just starting to blossom and there was much activity and new life on the lakes. The lakes are located near Snodland in Kent, and it is an ideal walk for dog walkers and for kids to discover nature. They have many activities on the lakes, boating, sail boarding… and of course, wonderful wildlife.
The two baby cygnets, photographed above, that were on the lake, had grown so much… they were losing their feathers and were turning into beautiful swans and preening themselves.

The above image was his first attempt at birds in flight… something I’ve never seem to accomplish, even now a decade on. I think I will stick to my flowers and landscapes… at least they don’t move too fast. 😀 😀 😀

I had only just got a new camera and was learning that day… so not many pictures were worth saving. But I was pleased that I managed to capture that beautiful swan gliding through the waters. Looking back on these images… I can see where we’ve improved and how we’ve jumped from the Auto settings on the camera to Aperture and Manual modes.
So, until the next #ThrowbackThursday, have a good week and happy snapping!
