Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #71 – Creepy

The challenge this week for the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge, set by Ann-Christine, is called creepy.  depending on the light I find churches slightly creepy.

St James' Church -Cooling

Anyway, the creepy part of the above image was how the preset I use for creating creepy, moody atmospheres, turned the light on the right in this picture to a black and white tint.

It just seemed so chilling how Lightroom managed it.

Then I thought about all those that lost their lives during conflicts and people they left behind.  So I decided to create a composite image.

Remembering

I added a feint-shadow of a soldier where the black and white area was on the right.  Then I found a clipart image of a lady in olden dress and added her standing in front of the soldier.  Finally, I added a poppy wreath.  Once I was content with the composite, I then gave the image a paint effect using Topaz Impression 2.  Her laying a wreath in memory of her long lost love.
