Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #66: Filling the Frame

What a great theme this week from Lens-Artists.  Filling the frame.  Have you ever been out and photographed something and thought I wish I had a closer shot of that object.. especially flowers.

Well when we were in the USA, there was this beautiful flower standing proud against the stone of the Palace of Fine Arts.

Not Filling the Frame

With the powers of Lightroom Classic, I managed to fill the frame.  Firstly in the Transform panel, I increased the Scale to its maximum of 150.  I then by using the X and Y Offset sliders put the flower to a more central position in the frame.

Which was great but it still didn’t fill the frame.  So the only option I had left in Lightroom was to crop the image so the flowers filled the frame.

Once happy with my crop I then had the following image.

To fill the frame even further, I then changed the aspect ratio of the crop to 1:1 and centred the flower in the middle of the crop.

Oh, the powers of software!
