Flower of the Day – 11th November 2018

On the 11th Hour of the 11th Day of the 11th Month… our household fell silent, in memory of those who fell in the Great War and all wars that followed.  Like many, I wear my poppy with pride.

Because I dread to even think how my life would have been, under dictatorship and I owe my freedom to those who fell and to those injured fighting for my freedom.  So for today’s flower of the day, it has to be poppies, photographed at Thames Barrier Park in London.

Poppies

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
