Adding a texture is one of the things I love to do to my images. I like to create artwork and I have a vast array of textures saved on my hard-drive. Primarily I would have used Photoshop and spent ages, masking and creating luminosity masks to show the texture just where I wanted it to appear.
But with ON1 Raw 2018.5 adding a texture to your images is a breeze.
Take the above image, which is SOOC, I loved the image but to me, it needed something doing to it. When you purchase ON1 RAW 2018.5 you have a vast amount of presets and textures as well as LUT’s that you can download and use on your images.
Using the layers side on ON1 RAW 2018.5, I added a texture from 2 Lil Owls Colour Burn Texture pack and then a texture from Leanne Cole’s Metal collection, which can be download from their loyalty page. After importing back into Lightroom I just added a vignette and a couple of radial filters. (By the way, this could have been achieved in ON1 but I had closed the program as I’m so used to heading back into Lightroom for a quick edit).
Here is the final image
For my second test, I used this photograph of a tree in the pond at Aylesford Priory.
As there were cars in the image, I used Photoshop to remove them. I haven’t got to grips yet, with removing objects in ON1 RAW 2018.5. That task is next on my list.
I used ON1 RAW 2018.5 as a Filter in Photoshop. Once in ON1 RAW 2018.5, I added some clouds to the sky. Played around with the colours by using the Glow Effect and that was it. Removing the clouds from the tree branches and other areas of the greenery, was a synch. With ON1 RAW 2018.5 Perfect Brush to remove the clouds, I just painted over the area I wanted the clouds removed from and without any hesitation, the ON1 Software removed the clouds. I was so impressed. The perfect brush is what makes this software unique for me. It is so easy to learn and it does a brilliant job.
Another image I processed is this one from Anglesey Abbey in Cambridgeshire, I couldn’t believe how this SOOC image became so vibrant.
Just by adding a texture and playing around with local adjustments; as well as adding filters really did transform the image.
Adding textures has just come a whole lot easier with ON1 Raw 2018.5 And I love the Perfect Brush. Here is a video explaining the Perfect Brush.
