As you know, by reading this blog, we are primarily landscape, architectural and floral amateur photographers. However, over the last month, I have been participating a lot in Cee’s Flower of the Day and Becky’s Square September – In the Pink. Unfortunately, Becky’s Square September is coming to a close, but what I have found, through doing these challenges, is that I have grown a passion for floral photography.
Working with floral photography and being able to combine the two challenges together with one image, has had me scouring my archives for photographs of pink flowers.
Over this last month, I have learnt my passion is for floral photography. As much, much as I love doing landscapes, interior and architectural photography, floral photography is what I love most with regards to photographing as well as processing.
Here in the UK, we are in our fall season. And it won’t be long before winter sets in. But because it is winter it doesn’t mean I have to stop doing floral photography. There are leaves, there are winter flowers, and a couple of trips to my garden centre with my mobile camera will keep me in an abundance of winter floral images.
So thank you to Cee and Becky for helping me find my passion. If it wasn’t for these two great photographer’s I don’t think I would have found my forte in photography. Naturally, I will still do landscape photography, but it will be floral photography that I will concentrate on more.
I will leave you with a selection of floral images I’ve processed, not just during September but throughout my photographic journey.
Have a good day everyone!
