Yosemite National Park

Processed in Lightroom and Luminar 2018 with a final Powder Paint Effect created in Photoshop.

I can’t believe it is over three years since we went to Yosemite National Park… And boy was we in for a marvellous surprise.  The landscape is beautiful and the River Merced as it flows through Yosemite is purely enchanting.

I started out with an image with a few basic Lightroom Adjustments

And then processed the image in Luminar 2018, giving it an Orton Effect and a few small sunrays.

I just loved what Luminar 2018 can do to an image… I then processed the image back into Lightroom, where I did a bit of dodging and burning.   Then in Photoshop I created a Powder Paint Effect image. (see above).

Wildfires are plaguing California as well as many other places in the world.. and to hear that Yosemite National Park could be at risk due to the Ferguson Fire.. broke my heart.  To think that this beautiful place could be affected by fire… was beyond imagination.  Although, Yosemite has been partially closed, I am pleased to hear that those areas that were closed will hopefully be opened up again on Friday, albeit with limited visitor services.

You can view more pictures from Yosemite in our Yosemite Portfolio.
