Friday Quick Tip – Photoshop – Selections

It is Friday again… and another weekend is just around the corner.  And we all know that Friday is Quick Tip Day from RyanPhotography!  I am primarily a Lightroom user and one of the tutors of Lightroom and Photoshop that I honestly think is one of the best of the best is Matt Kloskowski.  You can find Matt on Facebook, Google+ and YouTube as well as his Website.

Now one of the things I hate doing in Photoshop is making selections and I have purchased Topaz Remask for that, (especially if I want to cut something out of a photo) but there are times when you want to alter colours, or select items where you want to use an adjustment layer and that is when I find making selections a bit baffling.

Well that was until I watched the video below and I have to say, there were a lot of AHA moments for me and things started to come together and I started to understand exactly what each tool did.  It is not a quick video it is nearly 20 minutes long.. but believe me,  it is one video to bookmark and watch especially if you are having slight difficulties with your selections.  Honestly, after watching the following video things will fall into place and you will be far more confident and comfortable using the selections tools within Photoshop.

Matt doesn’t delve deep into selections but his explanations on the different tools and when to use them and how to use really makes life in Photoshop a lot easier.  And his explanations are easy to understand and to follow.  He shows you exactly what to do and how to do it.

I hope this video helps you when it comes to Selections in Photoshop… and until next time – have a great weekend everyone.
